Nouvelle Théologie (English: New Theology) was a school of theological thought expoused by relativists, useful idiots and fifth columnists within the Catholic Church who paved the way for the Second Vatican Council. Mostly dominant in Germany and France, exponents of Nouvelle Théologie found themselves in conflict with Pope Pius XII and Thomist scholastics. Karl Rahner and others associated with the group also influenced the founders of Marxist liberation theology.
